The scheme provides a corpus of ₹10 lakh to each child when he or she turns 18 years old. This corpus will be used to give a monthly stipend. As many as 1.19 lakh children in India lost their primary caregiver (parent or custodial grandparent) due to COVID-19, placing the country at the third spot after Mexico (1.4 lakh) and Brazil (1.3 lakh), according to estimates in a new study published in The Lancet.
Globally, this figure stood at 11.34 lakh between March 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021.
Children who lost either a mother or a father were 10.42 lakh, including 1.16 lakh in India.

According to the official figures of the Madhya Pradesh government, 1,200 children have lost their parents due to corona. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said in a press conference that the benefit of this scheme was to be given if he lost his parents or earner in the house due to Corona. AP govt announced that the children below 18 years who are orphaned by Corona Virus will get 10 Lakh in form of Fixed Deposit.
Children below 18 years Orphaned in Kerala will get 3 Lakh as Lump Sum and 2000 INR per month until they turn 18 years.
5 Lakh Fixed deposit for minors which will be given to them when they turn 18. Also, Rs 3000 monthly assistance will be provided to the guardian until the children turn 18.
Corona Orphaned Child will get free education in all state governed institutes and Rs 1500 will be given as assistance every month till the age of 21.
The government will take responsibility for the orphaned child and a special task force is created to manage that.
The government will give Rs. 2500 per month to the Orphaned child till the age of 25. Also, a committee is formed to look into the problems faced by the child.
Each district in the state is granted Rs 10 Lakh for the care of Covid-19 orphans.
Under the “Mahtari Dular Yojana” Govt will pay the expenses of Orphaned kids. Also orphaned students from classes 1-8 will get 500 INR monthly as a stipend and students from 9-12 classes will get Rs 1000 as a stipend.
All minors will get Rs. 2500 as monthly assistance till they turn 18.
The government has introduced helpline numbers for the foster families of Corona Orphaned kids. These helpline numbers are 181, WhatsApp number 8789833434, mobile numbers 9955588871, and 8789370474.

The children who are orphaned by Corona will get Rs 5000 per month. The government will also provide free ration and education.
Under the “Palanhaar Yojana” the government will provide Rs 500 monthly to these kids. Also, Rs. 1000 will be provided by additionally.
Uttarakhand Government has decided to provide Rs 3000 per month to orphaned kids until they turn 21. These kids will also get reservations in government jobs.

Maharashtra Government released Maharashtra Corona Orphans Scheme has been started by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. According to this scheme, 5 lakh rupees will be deposited in the name of the child as a fixed deposit in case of the death of one or both of his parents due to corona in the state. All these orphan children will also be given financial assistance of Rs 1,125 per month from the Government of Maharashtra.

According to the Maharashtra Covid Orphans Scheme, those children below the age of 18 years who have lost their parents after the date of March 1, 2020, will be given the benefit of this scheme.
